1.What is Independent Living?
Independent Living is a living arrangement where residents share bedrooms and common spaces in a structured, supportive environment. At Better Together Living, we provide clean, furnished homes designed to promote community, stability, and growth.
2.How many people live in each room?
Each room houses 2–3 residents, depending on the size of the room and the layout of the home.
3.What’s included in the home?
Our homes come fully furnished, including beds, storage space, kitchen appliances, and common area furniture. Utilities are included, and residents have access to shared kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor areas.
4.Is food provided?
Residents are responsible for their own groceries and eatingaccommodations but, program directors will always be more thanwilling to assist.
5.Are the homes supervised?
Our homes are not staffed or supervised 24/7. Residents are expected to take full responsibility for themselves, their belongings, and to respect their housemates and shared spaces. For added structure and accountability, security cameras are installed in common areas to help maintain a safe and respectful environment.
6.Who is eligible to live here?
Our homes serve individuals seeking independent living with support—this includes those in transitional housing programs, recovery, re-entry, or mental health stabilization. We accept referrals from case managers, social workers, and other providers.
7.How do I apply or refer someone?
You can complete our online referral form, call us directly, or have a case manager reach out on your behalf. Once we receive the referral, we’ll schedule a screening and walk-through.
8.Is there an intake or interview process?
Yes. We conduct a brief intake to ensure the home is a good fit for the individual and that all expectations are clearly understood before move-in.
9.How much does it cost to live here?
Rent varies by location, room size, and support level. It typically includes all utilities. We accept private pay, housing assistance, and in some cases, third-party support.
10.Do you accept housing vouchers or subsidies?
In many cases, yes. We work with various housing assistance programs. Contact us to verify your eligibility.
11.What is the daily routine like?
While residents are free to manage their time, there are expectations around cleanliness, respect for others, and shared responsibilities like light chores. All homes may have community check-ins or house meetings.
12.What rules do residents need to follow?
Clients are asked to follow these rules and will be asked to sign an agreement
confirming their understanding:
- Treat others with respect
- Maintain a drug- and violence-free environment
- Follow shared living guidelines and curfews (if applicable)
- Keep their space and shared areas clean
13.Can residents come and go freely?
Yes, this is an independent living environment. However, residents are expected to respect quiet hours and house agreements.
14.How long can someone stay?
Length of stay varies based on individual needs and program guidelines. Some residents stay short-term during transition, others stay long-term for stable housing.

15.What support do you offer residents?
